CIG Charitable Gift Guide

It’s Giving Tuesday, which means there’s no better time to support the programs that helped so many of us find our voice, our people, and our sense of belonging.

For 49 years, the Canadian Improv Games has helped young people discover confidence, creativity, teamwork, and the power of saying yes, and… And if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’ve felt that impact yourself – on a stage, in a gym, at Nationals, or through an improv community that shaped how you lead and collaborate today.

That’s why we’re kicking off our year-end fundraising campaign with the launch of the 2025 CIG Charitable Gift Guide – a collection of meaningful and high-impact ways to support youth improv across Canada.

Whether you cheer at a regional tournament, adore the National Festival, or still remember the joy of your first improv scene, your gift helps ensure the next generation gets that same opportunity. And because CIG is a registered charity, every contribution comes with a handy-dandy tax receipt.

Give a gift in the spirit of improvisation, cooperation, and learning – this Giving Tuesday and all season long – and help us reach our year-end fundraising goal.

Send a School to Regionals - $25

Help cover the cost for an unregistered school in your area to attend a regional tournament as audience members. This gift gives students and teachers a firsthand experience of the magic of the Canadian Improv Games, helping them discover what it looks and feels like to be part of the community and inspiring new programs to join in the future.

Sponsor a Workshop at Nationals – $50

Hundreds of students attend Nationals each year, and your gift helps make their learning possible. Sponsor a workshop block and help cover the cost of space rentals, materials, and instruction that give young performers the chance to grow, connect, and refine their craft. Donors will be informed of the workshop options their gift supports and updated on the real impact their sponsored session makes.

Regional Awards & Medals – $75

Make sure your region’s achievements are honoured with real awards — banners, medals, or plaques that students can take home proudly. Donors will be updated on your regional results and the awards they sponsored!

Improv U/Improv Camp Guest Lecture – $90

Help cover the cost of bringing a professional artist or CIG alum into Improv U to teach students new skills and inspire the next generation of Canadian improvisers! Donors will be informed of the workshop their gift supports and updated on the real impact their sponsored session makes.

Register a player to Nationals – $100

Support a student’s ability to attend the National Festival by contributing to a fund that helps cover registration costs for participants who would otherwise face financial barriers. Your gift will be directed through the National Office to ensure it reaches a student in need.

Register a coach to the Teacher’s Conference – $100

Support a teacher’s ability to attend the National Teachers’ Conference by contributing to a fund that helps cover registration for educators who would otherwise be unable to participate. Your gift will be directed through the National Office to ensure it supports a coach seeking to deepen their training and bring expanded knowledge back to their students.

Fund a CIG Training Video - $500

CIG training videos are used by teachers, coaches, and students across the country, as well as AROUND THE WORLD! Our most recent collection of training videos are from 11 years ago, and before CIG 50, we want to create new resources for our community. Donors to this fund can write a personalized message or dedication for the video description.

Send a Student to Improv Camp/U – $1,359

The CIG runs two summer programs – Improv Camp in BC and Improv U in Quebec. Both are truly memorable and exciting experiences for high school students who love the art of improvisational theatre. Thanks to our Leadership Program, it’s also a place for recent grads to expand their skills.

Your sponsorship will be donated through the National Office and the recipient will be notified of your support. The donor also has the option to name, present, and create criteria for the award.

Beep Beep - $5

Support the Canadian Improv Games with a small donation. Every dollar goes on to create BIG impact.
